Offical Factory Opening Thursday 24 March 2011

Windsor Engineering recently celebrated in style the official opening of their new premises in Porirua. After 35 years in their former location, the decision to relocate was prompted from the company’s LEAN manufacturing efforts which highlighted that a purpose designed facility would better suit their future needs. The new building features a large open plan engineering office to accommodate the company’s 30 project engineers and designers. The manufacturing facilities include two large manufacturing bays including an extra high bay for Windsor’s larger fabricated structures.
The Prime Minister, John Key officially opened the new facilities in front of 200 invited clients, suppliers and other guests. Along with the Prime Ministers congratulatory speech, presentations were also made by Windsor’s Peter McKee (CEO), Bill Studd (Chairman & Founder) and Maurice Davies (Managing Director) which covered Windsor’s numerous achievements to date and future aspirations. Representatives from several major New Zealand engineering and manufacturing companies were present and from all appearances, everyone enjoyed the opportunity of celebrating some positive NZ engineering.
“It was a perfect sunny day and we felt very honoured to have so many long standing clients and friends help share this momentous occasion with us” said Maurice Davies. “ After recent challenging years, Windsor is now well positioned with our new building to embrace future projects and better support our clients. We have a strong forward order book and are recruiting talented engineers and fabricators to help with the upcoming workload”.
